The Washington DC Metro commenced operations in 1976 and now comprises of 91 stations across 6 lines and 188 route kilometres. I have attached a couple of photographs of the Red Line which runs in a U shape from Shady Grove to Glenmont (which are both in Maryland). Much of the Metro employs a brutalist late 20th Century architectural style with exposed concrete stations inspired by the city's neoclassical architecture.
