Birkenhead Connection - Complete

Banbury Connections has recently undergone a major expansion which has added an additional 8 stations to the railway. The expansion started at Wolverhampton where the railway was extended through to Shrewsbury, Welshpool and then Machynlleth on the existing railway. From Shrewsbury the extension allows services to continue onto Wrexham, Chester and finally Birkenhead.

The extension has required several stages including the removal of a tree on the future site, the extension of the shed, construction of the extension, the moving of parts of the existing railway and the relocation of the partially constructed extension into its final position.

Below are slides depicting progress.
