Special accolades to long serving SM at Gosport, Keith Johnston, who has recently sourced additional pencil torches for fitting to standard uncoupling rods. This will assist all aging station managers in this task, thereby helping them avoid the threat of enforced redundancy in these trying economic times.

The 9th of March 2018 marked a significant milestone for the Banbury Connections global connectivity strategy with the delivery of a Boeing 707 completed by Wang Aeronautical Engineering Company. Construction of the Boeing 707, which was delivered in kit form from the United Kingdom in July 2017, was commenced in September 2017. Owing to demands placed on the time of key construction crew, aircraft assembly was somewhat delayed. Notwithstanding, a gallant final effort has seen the Boeing 707 completed and ready for use. Banbury Connections management has hailed the arrival of the new jet aircraft as a new era for the railway with an expected pick-up in tourism volumes and greater connectivity between Europe and Australia. Whilst Qantas management have a view to introduce Boeing 707s shortly, the Super Constellation G is safe for the foreseeable future!
In response to the release of the second Paddington Bear film, Banbury Connections has acquired another London Borismaster (New Bus for London) in a special Paddington Bear livery. This bus joins a growing fleet of four Borismasters which make up the bus fleet when the railway is operating in modern image mode. Unfortunately, marmalade sandwiches weren't included!
Below are some pictures of the Paddington bus and the Paddington bus alongside another Borismaster at the Banbury Connections Cambridge Distribution Centre. |
