The Azuma IEPs have made it into service and were an impressive sight at King's Cross earlier this month.

On our journey between Birmingham and Leeds, we were fortunate enough to find the new Class 66 Evening Star at Sheffield. It is certainly a fitting tribute to the last of this successful class of diesel locomotive.
I have included a picture of the Class 9F Evening Star for comparison! Transportation of the MTH carriage from our United States distribution centre in Washington DC to the Banbury Connections Head Ganger required a short trip to the United Kingdom. Fortunately, this provided me with the opportunity to take the Long Island Railroad from New York's Penn Station to Jamaica before hopping onto the AirTrain to JFK airport (where flights are much cheaper!).
The Long Island RR provided a very comfortable 20min ride and glimpse at one of the nation's only metropolitan commuter railways. Following the inadvertent discovery of a half price O Gauge MTH Stanier Brake First, a third carriage was purchased to join our MTH O Gauge Stanier Open Second and Full Brake. As with most things, the "bargain" carriage led to the acquisition of an ex-GWR 0-6-0 8750 Pannier Tank.
Whether this is the beginnings of a small O Gauge shunting layout remains a subject of discussion. |
